The purpose of the BWPI is to conduct and promote world-leading research on poverty in all of its manifestations.

BWPI MSc Poverty and Development

BWPI runs a joint taught Masters level programme with the Institute for Development Policy and Management within the School of Environment and Development.

BWPI and Rimisp colleagues meet in Ecuador

BWPI - Rimisp Fellowships

As part of the BWPI-Rimisp collaboration four BWPI-Rimisp Latin American Student Fellowships have been made available from over the next three to four years commencing in 2009/10.

These fellowships will be awarded by Rimisp, primarily though not exclusively, to nationals of Latin American countries, who are currently registered on a PhD programme at the University of Manchester in a social sciences field pertinent to rural development in Latin America.
