The Effective States and Inclusive Development Research Centre (ESID) is a network of researchers and policy partners in Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the UK and the USA. ESID is hosted by BWPI/IDPM at the University of Manchester and is funded by the UK’s Department for International Development. Until March 2011, BWPI worked with CPRC, an international partnership of universities, research institutes and NGOs established in 2000 to deepen understanding of the causes of chronic poverty. Visit the CPRC website to access the wealth of resources, including policy briefs, reports and an online database and toolkit .
BWPI is collaborating on research into climate change and urban poverty in Bangladesh (alongside the Global Urban Research Centre (GURC) and the Manchester Architecture Research Centre (MARC).

The Centre for Growth and Business Cycle Research (CGBCR)
The Centre seeks to contribute to important contemporary debates in economic growth and development, macroeconomic fluctuations and stability, and government intervention and policy.
